High-Resolution Side Scan Sonar System for Underwater Search, Recovery & Survey Operations

The Side Scan Sonar 600 kHz by JW Fishers is a professional high-resolution underwater imaging sonar system designed for search and recovery, public safety diving, marine survey, law enforcement, naval operations, and underwater inspection missions. Engineered for reliable operation in low-visibility environments, the SSS-600K enables operators to rapidly scan large underwater areas while producing detailed acoustic images of the seabed regardless of water clarity.

Operating at 600 kHz, the system provides an excellent balance between imaging resolution and search coverage, making it particularly effective for detecting smaller targets, soft objects, evidence, debris, submerged vehicles, drowning victims, and underwater structures. The sonar produces exceptionally clear imagery within scan ranges of 10 to 75 meters per side while maintaining the ability to identify subtle seabed features and difficult-to-detect targets.

Designed for rapid deployment and ease of use, the complete system includes a depth-rated towfish, Kevlar-reinforced tow cable, GPS receiver, rugged transport case, and SONAR VIEW software for real-time underwater imaging and post-mission analysis. The towfish transmits acoustic data to a topside computer where operators receive a live split-screen display showing both port and starboard seabed imagery in real time.

The included SONAR VIEW software provides advanced operational functionality including target measurement tools, annotation capability, auto bottom tracking, GPS-linked mapping, image storage, playback, and post-processing analysis. Operators can adjust scan ranges, amplifier gain, display colors, and other sonar parameters directly through an intuitive graphical interface optimized for field operations.

Built with rugged field-ready construction, the SSS-600K is designed for operation from small boats, rescue vessels, survey craft, and portable deployment platforms. Its compact transportable configuration allows a single operator or small team to quickly mobilize the system for emergency response, underwater investigation, or marine survey missions.

Widely used by police dive teams, military units, commercial marine operators, salvage companies, archaeologists, and search-and-rescue organizations worldwide, the JW Fishers 600 kHz Side Scan Sonar provides an efficient and cost-effective solution for underwater target detection and seabed imaging in challenging underwater environments.
