The RHYNO Protect by Shark Robotics is a compact, modular unmanned firefighting and intervention robot designed to support emergency responders in hazardous and confined environments. Developed as the smaller and more agile counterpart to the Colossus platform, the RHYNO Protect combines powerful firefighting capability, remote operation, and multi-mission adaptability in a lightweight tactical robotic system suitable for urban, industrial, tunnel, and indoor operations.



Engineered for rapid deployment in high-risk situations, the RHYNO Protect enables firefighters and emergency teams to operate remotely while reducing exposure to heat, smoke, toxic environments, structural collapse risks, and dangerous industrial conditions. Its compact dimensions and tracked mobility allow the robot to maneuver through narrow passages, stairways, warehouses, underground infrastructure, parking structures, and confined spaces where larger robotic platforms may be difficult to deploy.


The robot is equipped with a high-performance water and foam monitor capable of delivering up to 1,900–2,000 liters per minute with a range of up to 65 meters, enabling effective fire suppression while maintaining operator safety from a remote location. Integrated thermal protection systems, HD video cameras, night vision capability, LED lighting, and mesh communication systems provide real-time situational awareness during operations in low-visibility and high-temperature environments.


Built on a rugged IP67-rated platform with integrated thermal resistance up to 900°C, the RHYNO Protect is capable of carrying payloads up to 200–250 kg while towing pressurized fire hoses and operational equipment through difficult terrain. The modular architecture allows rapid tool-free integration of mission payloads including firefighting modules, casualty evacuation systems, reconnaissance cameras, CBRN sensors, sanitization systems, transport baskets, robotic arms, and industrial safety equipment.


Powered by dual electric motors and lithium-ion battery systems, the RHYNO Protect delivers quiet operation, reduced maintenance requirements, and operational autonomy of up to 5 hours depending on mission profile. Remote operation ranges up to 1,000 meters line-of-sight using Shark Robotics’ secure communication and mesh relay systems.


Today, the RHYNO Protect platform is used by fire brigades, industrial safety teams, civil defense organizations, and emergency response units worldwide for firefighting, reconnaissance, rescue support, and hazardous environment intervention missions.
