The ATRAX Demining Robot by Shark Robotics is a compact, high-mobility Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and Counter-IED robotic platform designed for military, law enforcement, and hazardous intervention missions. Engineered in collaboration with French Special Forces and military EOD operators, the ATRAX provides safe remote capabilities for explosive threat inspection, manipulation, reconnaissance, and neutralization in high-risk environments.

Built around a rugged ultra-compact tracked platform, the ATRAX combines exceptional off-road mobility, precision manipulation, and modular mission adaptability in a lightweight robotic system optimized for rapid deployment. Its patented front flipper system improves terrain negotiation and enables the robot to cross obstacles, climb debris, and operate effectively in urban environments, industrial facilities, tunnels, and difficult field conditions.

The robot is equipped with a high-precision 5-axis manipulator arm capable of safely handling suspicious objects, dismantling explosive devices, and performing delicate intervention tasks from a protected standoff distance. The arm provides lifting capacities of up to 12 kg in bent configuration and 6 kg fully extended, with a reach of approximately 1.2 meters and a clamp opening of 200 mm for versatile operational capability.

Designed for modern EOD and C-IED missions, the ATRAX integrates HD visual systems, thermal imaging options, pan-and-tilt surveillance cameras, CBRN sensor compatibility, mesh relay communications, and optional fiber-optic wired control systems for operation in RF-denied or electronically contested environments. These capabilities provide operators with enhanced situational awareness, stable communications, and secure remote intervention in complex operational scenarios.

Powered by dual lithium-ion battery systems and electric drive motors, the ATRAX delivers quiet operation, low maintenance requirements, and operational autonomy of up to 6 hours depending on mission conditions. The robot can overcome obstacles up to 20 cm, climb slopes up to 40°, and operate with remote-control ranges of approximately 1,000 meters line-of-sight using Shark Robotics’ mesh relay system.

The modular platform supports rapid tool-free mission customization with disruptor interfaces, reconnaissance payloads, CBRN detection modules, surveillance systems, and specialized intervention tools. Today, the ATRAX platform is deployed by military EOD teams, special forces units, security agencies, and critical infrastructure operators for safe explosive disposal and hazardous environment operations worldwide.
